NEW ALBANY, Ind. – IU Southeast fell short at the buzzer as Megan Cureton's three went wide, as the Grenadiers lost another close game 68-65 to Alice Lloyd on Saturday.
Cureton had a huge game with 23 points, eight rebounds and two steals. She went 4-of-7 from three-point range and hit timely threes to keep IU Southeast in the game.
The Grenadiers (8-9, 4-4 KIAC) trailed by nine halfway through the opening half before IU Southeast cut the lead to three at the break. Cureton hit two key three-point field goals late in the first half to keep the score close.
In the second half, IU Southeast trailed by as many as 11 points before cutting the lead to a one possession game with 2:10 to play on Mary Dye's layup.
The Grenadiers had chances to tie or take the lead late, but a could not capitalize.
Ariel Nickell had 28 points and 10 rebounds and Carla Booth added 20 for Alice Lloyd (11-6, 6-2).
IU Southeast heads to Berea on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest.
