NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Megan Cureton's jumper fell short with three seconds left as No.21 Point Park escaped with a 79-77 win to remain undefeated.
The Grenadiers (7-6, 3-1 KIAC) were down 70-60 with 3:43 to play. They went on a 10-0 run to send the game to overtime.
Cureton led the Grenadiers with 20 points and six steals. Heather Wheat added 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals and Mary Dye had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Grenadiers lost the game at the free throw line and on the defensive glass. They missed nine free throws in the second half and overtime and 29-of-43 from the line in the game (67 percent). Point Park had 25 second-chance points to the Grenadiers' 10.
Sam Weir had 25 points and 17 rebounds in the win for the Pioneers.
IU Southeast heads to Cincinnati Christian on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
