No. 19 Lindsey Wilson Edges IU Southeast 81-74

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Four Grenadiers scored in double figures but Lindsey Wilson nipped IU Southeast 81-74 on Tuesday night.

Megan Cureton had a great game, leading the Grenadiers with 24 points. Heather Wheat and Jade Spaulding each had 13 and Mary Dye chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

The game was decided on the boards, as IU Southeast was outrebounded 46-27. The Blue Raiders had 14 second-chance points to the Grenadiers two.

Chanel Roberts had 29 points to lead the Blue Raiders.

IU Southeast (4-3) trailed by just eight points to the Blue Raiders, who are ranked No. 19 in NAIA Division I. The Grenadiers were able to take the lead 57-55 with 9:23 to play after Jade Spaulding was fouled by Keosha Wisener and then she was called for technical foul. Spaulding and Wheat hit all four free throws to capitalize. Then Lindsey Wilson went on a 13-4 run and never relinquished the lead.

Heather Wheat had seven assists and moved into first place in career assists with 486, passing Laura Donlon.

The Grenadiers head to Oakland City on Saturday before hosting Johnson & Wales on Sunday at 1 p.m.
