NEW ALBANY, Ind. – A cold-shooting second half sent IU Southeast to a 70-61 loss on Saturday. The loss snapped the Grenadiers 35-game home winning streak, which dates back to Dec. 6, 2011 when the Grenadiers lost to Saint Francis (Ind.) 82-81 in overtime.
Jake Simpson had 19 points and six assists to lead the Grenadiers. Eddrick Bruce added 12 points and four rebounds.
IU Southeast (3-4) shot 42 percent in the first half and trailed 33-29 at halftime. In the second half, the offense could not find its stride. The Grenadiers shot 11-of-34 (32 percent) in the second half. The three-point shot would not fall all day. The Grenadiers shot 4-of-15 (27 percent) from behind-the-arc in the game.
Four Patriots (9-2) scored in double figures, led by Tony Bradley's 15 points.
IU Southeast opens KIAC play next Saturday when it travels to Alice Lloyd College at 3 p.m.
