NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team dominated Carlow Friday night, en route to a 25-13, 25-12, 25-15 win.
Hannah Joly had 10 kills, Michala Beasley added eight and Katie Fischer had six in the win. Hannah Barker had 23 assists.
The Grenadiers (13-7, 7-2 KIAC) had eight aces in the match, including a career-high five from Joly.
Carlow (15-10, 1-3 KIAC) was able to keep the first set close for the first half of the set and trailed 10-6 before the Grenadiers went on a 15-7 run to close out the frame.
The Grenadiers opened the second set by jumping out to a comfortable lead but Carlow was able to get back in the set at 15-11. The Grenadiers responded by reeling off a 10-1 stretch to seal the set. Joly had two aces during that run.
Maddie Jacobi put the match out of reach by serving seven-straight points. She had an ace during that run that saw the Grenadiers extend their lead from 18-13 to 23-14. Fischer had two kills during the stretch as well.
The Grenadiers have won six in a row and will look for their seventh-straight victory when they host Midway on Oct. 13.
