Box Score NEW ALBANY, Ind. – A second-half rally by IU Southeast fell short Friday and the Grenadiers dropped a 70-58 decision to Berea.
IU Southeast (3-5) trailed by as many as 19 in the second half, but used a 16-4 run to cut the lead to six with eight minutes to play in regulation. Mary Dye and Annie Thomas were key in that run and Dye scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half.
Thomas led the way with 18 points and Dye and Jocelyn Mousty each had 12 points. Mousty also added 16 rebounds. Baylee Krueger provided some solid offense off the bench, adding nine points.
Once again, the Grenadiers were done in by turnovers. Berea scored 17 points off of 24 turnovers and IU Southeast scored just nine points off of 17 turnovers.
Bethanie Williams made some key three-pointers to keep the lead out of reach for Berea. She led the Mountaineers with 21 points and Adriana Williams had 17.
The Grenadiers shot just 4-of-20 from three-point range.
The Grenadiers travel to Oakland City on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m.
