NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Megan Cureton had 21 points and Mary Dye had her fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds but it was not enough as the Grenadiers fell to Rio Grande 71-59.

The Grenadiers (16-8, 7-3 KIAC) trailed 35-33 at halftime but a 15-4 run by the RedStorm in the last seven minutes of the second half put the game away.

The Grenadiers had chances to stay in the game but poor foul shooting and an inability to hit from behind-the-arc stalled the offense.

IU Southeast shot 18-of-33 (55 percent) from the free-throw line and 5-of-21 (5-of-21) from three-point range in the game.

Brianna Thomas had 25 points and seven steals for Rio Grande.

The Grenadiers head to Midway on Saturday for key KIAC South Division contest. Tipoff is at 1 p.m.
