NEW ALBANY, Ind. – IU Southeast never trailed or tied Alice Lloyd and led by as many as 31 points as they routed the Eagles 78-55 on Saturday.
Annie Thomas had 22 points, six assists and five rebounds. Mary Dye had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Josie Hockman added 16 points.
The Grenadiers (10-9, 7-3 KIAC) held Alice Lloyd scoreless for the first 3:30 of the game and did not allow a made field goal until the six-minute mark of the first quarter. By then, IU Southeast led 15-4 and led 26-11 at the end of the first quarter.
Alice Lloyd found its offense in the second quarter and outscored the Grenadiers 14-11 to trail 37-25 at halftime.
IU Southeast sealed the game with a dominant third quarter. They outscored the Eagles 23-11. IU Southeast was led by Hockman and Dye in the second half, who scored 12 and 10 points respectively.
The Grenadiers led 60-36 after three periods.
IU Southeast was dominant in the paint, outscoring Alice Lloyd 36-12. They held the Eagles to 33 percent shooting from the field in the game and forced 18 turnovers.
The Grenadiers head to IU Kokomo Tuesday at 5 p.m.
