NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's basketball team lost 68-48 to IU East on Tuesday.
Annie Thomas had 11 points and Josie Hockman added 10 points in the win.
The Grenadiers (11-12, 8-6 KIAC) never led and the game was tied once. The Grenadiers cut a 17-point lead to 31-23 at halftime and looked to have momentum in the third quarter.
IU Southeast cut the lead to 35-33 with 5:15 left in the third, but the Red Wolves responded with a 16-2 run to close out the quarter with a 51-35 lead.
The Grenadiers committed 19 turnovers and IU East capitalized, scoring 20 points off the miscues. The IU East bench was dominant, outscoring IU Southeast 23-5. The Red Wolves pounded the Grenadiers on the boards 51-36.
IU Southeast shot just 34 percent from the field (20-of-59) and was 4-of-12 from behind-the-arc.
The Grenadiers travel to Ohio Christian Friday at 6 p.m.
