NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Mary Dye had a career-high 30 points and 12 rebounds but it was not enough as IU Southeast lost 86-79 to Kentucky Christian in overtime.
Jocelyn Mousty had 18 points and 12 rebounds, Katie Slavey had 13 points, Josie Hockman added 10 points.
The two Grenadier seniors carried the team at different points in the game. Katie Slavey started it in the first half by leading the Grenadiers with 10 first-half points on 3-of-4 shooting from three-point range. Then Dye took over in the second half and overtime by scoring 23 points on seven-of-eight shooting in the second half.
The Grenadiers (12-14) shot 50 percent from the field in the game but allowed the Lady Knights to shoot 10-of-21 (48 percent) from behind-the-arc.
Alivia Bierley had 22 points to lead Kentucky Christian.
The game was tight throughout with 14 ties and 14 lead changes.
The Grenadiers trailed 70-68 but a nice drive and layup by Josie Hockman tied the game and Mousty sent the game to overtime with a blocked shot at the buzzer.
In overtime, the Lady Knights went on a 12-4 run to seal the game.
IU Southeast hosts Point Park on Friday at 6 p.m.
