Grenadier Comeback Falls Short as IU Southeast Falls 86-84

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Grenadiers had multiple chances on the final possession of the game, but they could not get enough any shots to fall after by as many as 19 in the second half.

Devon White had 24 points and Jacob Mills had 21 while Joe Jackson added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

On the Grenadiers' final possession of the game, Mills missed a three and Robert Sawyer was unable to get the follow to fall. Mills had one last attempt but missed.

The Grenadiers made just seven field goals in the first half and shot 22 percent from the field. The three-point shot did not fall all night as IU Southeast shot 3-of-20 in the first half and 7-of-35 for the game.

IU Southeast got back in the game by dominated on the boards and getting second chance points. They won the rebounding battle 50-36 and outscored the Pioneers in the second chance points 16-1.

After a sluggish first half, the Grenadiers found their offense in the second and shot 48 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes. IU Southeast did the bulk of its damage in the paint, outscoring Point Park 38-14.

IU Southeast concludes its season Saturday at 3 p.m. on Homecoming. Senior Day activities will begin prior to the men's tipoff.
