NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Katie Slavey had a career-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead the Grenadiers past Point Park 70-61.
Josie Hockman had 18 points and six rebounds and Michaela Harris had 12 points in the win.
The Grenadiers (13-14, 10-7 KIAC) dominated the Pioneers on the boards 56-32 and 33-16 in the second half. IU Southeast trailed 44-37 with 4:00 left in the third quarter but cut the lead to one at the end of the frame. Slavey hit three big threes in the third to keep the game in reach.
In the fourth quarter, the Grenadiers limited Point Park to one shot each possession and Josie Hockman was able to capitalize in transition. The Grenadiers opened the fourth with a 12-4 run to keep the game out of reach and did not allow Point Park to cut the lead back down to one possession for the rest of the game.
It was a sloppy game throughout, with the Grenadiers committing 23 turnovers, but they limited Point Park to just seven points off turnovers.
IU Southeast hosts Carlow Saturday at 1 p.m. Homecoming festivities will take place throughout the day and Senior Day activities will begin at 1 p.m.
