No. 19 Grenadiers Ground Falcons 103-69

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Freshman Lukas Burkman had a game-high 21 points and the IU Southeast offense rolled Tuesday as the Grenadiers defeated Simmons College 103-69.

Four Grenadiers scored in double figures led by Burkman. Jamie Johnson had 19 points, Kerry Smith had 13 points and Jacob Mills added 10 points.

The Grenadiers led 31-28 with under seven minutes to play in the first half before a 20-7 IU Southeast run put the lead out of reach to end the half.

Jamie Johnson had 17 of his 19 points in the first half and Burkman exploded for 19 points in the second half on 8-of-11 shooting from the field.

The Grenadiers (3-1) outscored the Falcons 34-14 in the paint and capitalized on 17 turnovers, outscoring Simmons 26-7 off of turnovers.

IU Southeast hosts Boyce College Saturday at 4 p.m. on Homecoming Weekend.
