No. 20 IU Southeast Cruises Past Eagles 101-85 In RSC Opener

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The No. 20-ranked IU Southeast men's basketball team opened conference play Tuesday with a 101-85 win over Alice Lloyd College.

Jamie Johnson had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Nick Tinsley had 19 points, Kerry Smith had 16 points, David Burton had 15 points and nine rebounds and Brandon Johnson added 13 points.

IU Southeast (6-3, 1-0 RSC) jumped out to a 22-9 lead behind the play of Nick Tinsley, who scored 17 points in the first half on 7-of-7 shooting from the field. He also connected on three three-pointers. Dabid Burton had 10 points and eight rebounds in the opening 20 minutes.

The Jammie Johnson took over in the second half, scoring 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field.

IU Southeast kept the Eagles at bay by hitting on 7-of-12 three-point attempts in the second half.

Alice Lloyd (2-5, 0-1 RSC) could not match the IU Southeast scoring depth but Noah Young had a game-high 27 points for the Eagles.

The Grenadiers travel to Asbury University Saturday at 3 p.m.
