No. 20 IU Southeast Grounds Thunderhawks 114-64 On Homecoming

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The No. 20-ranked IU Southeast men's basketball team jumped out to a 13-2 lead five minutes into the contest and did not look back en route to a 114-64 over Miami-Middletown on Saturday.

Senior Jamie Johnson had 23 points to lead IU Southeast. Kerry Smith had 17 points and four steals. Freshman Brian Alvey had 16 points and hit five three-pointers. Jared Osborne had 14, Lukas Burkman had 13 and Brandon Johnson added 10 points. Every Grenadier scored in the contest.

IU Southeast led 61-27 at halftime.

The Grenadiers (2-0) forced 32 turnovers in the contest and scored 40 points off of the miscues.

IU Southeast shot 53 percent from the field and 43 percent (19-of-44) from three-point range. After hitting 15 three-pointers against the University of the Cumberlands on Tuesday, the Grenadiers connected on 19 three-pointers on Saturday.

IU Southeast hosts Boyce College Tuesday at 7 p.m.
