NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's basketball team saw its season end with a 70-59 defeat to West Virginia Tech on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the River States Conference Basketball Tournament.

Annie Thomas had a game-high 20 points for IU Southeast in her final game as a Grenadier. Baylee Krueger had 11 points and 13 rebounds and Aaliyah Bell had 11 points.

The Grenadiers (18-12) committed 21 turnovers and the Golden Bears scored 21 points off of the Grenadier turnovers.

IU Southeast trailed 31-25 at halftime but the third quarter belonged to WVU Tech. The Golden Bears (19-12) outscored IU Southeast 18-6 in the third quarter. The Grenadiers trailed by as many as 21 points in the second half and were not able to cut the deficit to single digits as WVU Tech hit timely baskets to keep IU Southeast at arm's length.

WVU Tech shot 47 percent from the field in the second half. They capitalized on second-chance points, outscoring IU Southeast 19-9 in that category.
