NEW ALBANY, Ind. – IU Southeast led 66-33 at halftime and by as many as 41 points in the second half as the Grenadiers cruised past Point Park 101-73 on Saturday.
The Grenadiers (14-7, 7-3 RSC) shot 59 percent in the first half and hit eight three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes to jump out to a large lead. IU Southeast forced 14 turnovers in the first half which led to 25 points.
Jamie Johnson had 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead IU Southeast. Kerry Smith added 17 points, Brandon Johnson had 12 points and Ezekiel Smith a season-high 10 points off of the bench.
Daniel King had 20 points to lead the Pioneers and Tramell Perry added 10 points in the loss.
IU Southeast trailed 7-6 early in the first half before using a 38-4 run to take control of the contest. Jamie Johnson had 19 of his 25 points in the first half in under 10 minutes of action.
Saturday's contest was rescheduled to 12 p.m. to allow Point Park to travel back to Pittsburgh before the expected winter weather arrived in the region.
The Grenadiers travel to Ohio Christian Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
