Grenadiers Rout Boyce College 115-71

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Six Grenadiers scored in double-figures and IU Southeast never trailed as they rolled past Boyce College 115-71 on Tuesday.

Anthony Wales Jr. led the Grenadiers with 23 points and six steals. Jocobi Hendricks had 19 points, David Burton had 16 points, Jared Osborne added 13 points and five assists, Tamaje Blackwell had 12 points and Jacobe Brown had 11 points.

IU Southeast (6-0) opened the game on a 30-6 run over the first 8:30 of the contest. The Bulldogs (0-3) did not break double-figures until the 11:13 mark of the first half.

IU Southeast forced 19 turnovers in the first half and used their speed for easy baskets, outscoring the Bulldogs 19-0 in fast-break points.

The Grenadiers led 61-26 at halftime.

Boyce found its shooting stroke in the second half but the lead was too much to overcome. A jumper by Antonio Rogers broke the century mark for IU Southeast. The Grenadiers have broken 100 points in two of their first four contests.

IU Southeast forced 29 turnovers and committed just nine in the contest. They outscored Boyce 41-13 off of turnovers and dominated in the paint 54-28. IU Southeast shot 57 percent from the field in the contest and 15-of-36 (42 percent) from three-point range.

IU Southeast travels to No. 1 Georgetown College Tuesday at 7 p.m.
