Grenadiers Fall To No. 1 Georgetown 111-90

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Four Grenadiers scored in double-figures but a second-half surge by No. 1 Georgetown was the difference in the Tigers' 111-90 win.

David Burton had 21 points to lead IU Southeast. Tamaje Blackwell had 18 points, Jocobi Hendricks had 14 and Jared Osborne added 12 points.

The first half was tight throughout, with five ties and four lead changes. The Tigers (7-0) led 17-11 but IU Southeast tied it at 17 after back-to-back threes by Jocobi Hendricks.

Georgetown pulled away to a 52-44 lead late in the first half but a basket by Antonio Rogers and a three-pointer by Jared Osborne cut the lead to 52-49 at halftime.

Jared Osborne and David Burton had 12 points and 11 points, respectively to keep IU Southeast in the contest.

In the second half the Tigers used a huge run to pull the game away. Early in the half they extended the lead to 73-59 but IU Southeast answered with a 10-0 run to keep the game close.

The Tigers responded with a 38-14 run to put the game away. The Grenadiers' defense failed them in the second half as they allowed Georgetown to shoot 58 percent from the field.

IU Southeast travels to Campbellsvillle to take on the Tigers Friday at 8 p.m.
