NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Kelsi Scott had 27 points and eight rebounds, Josie Hockman had 14 points and Ariana Sandefur added 12 as IU Southeast defeated Kentucky Christian 73-63 on Thursday.
The Grenadiers (14-11) led 34-30 at halftime behind the play of Scott, who had 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
Hockman started the third quarter with a personal 5-0 run to give IU Southeast lead but that was cut to 43-40 three minutes into the quarter.
IU Southeast used an 8-1 run in the third quarter to take a 53-43 lead and led 53-45 heading to the fourth quarter.
The lead was cut to 59-54 when Scott scored eight-straight points for the Grenadiers to keep the Knights at bay.
Lauren Lambdin and Madi Woods hit key free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
Due in large part to Scott's play in the post, IU Southeast outscored KCU 42-32 in the paint in the contest and had 43 rebounds to the Knights' 34.
IU Southeast hosts Asbury University Saturday at 1 p.m.
