Grenadiers Roll Past Oakland City In 2020 Home Opener

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Trey Hourigan had a career-high 16 points as six Grenadiers scored in double-figures to lead IU Southeast to a 103-65 win over Oakland City in the home and conference opener for the Grenadiers.

The trio of Trey Hourigan, Jared Osborne and Anthony Wales Jr. sparked the Grenadier offense in the first half. Hourigan scored 14 of his 16 points, Wales scored 12 of his 14 and Osborne had 11 of his 15 points in the opening half. The Grenadiers opened the game on a 20-7 run and led by as many as 25 points in the first half.

IU Southeast (1-4, 1-0 RSC) led 58-36 at halftime.

In the second half, the Grenadiers forced 12 turnovers which helped extend the lead. After allowing Oakland City to shoot over 40 percent, the Grenadiers held the Mighty Oaks to 32 percent from the field and 0-of-11 from behind-the-arc in the second half.

David Burton had 12 points and Glenn Hill added 11 in the second half to lead the Grenadiers.

The Grenadiers shot 46 percent from the field in the game and forced 20 turnovers while committing just eight.

Trey Hourigan and David Burton each had 16 points to lead the Grenadiers. Jared Osborne had 15 points and 12 rebounds for his first career double-double, Anthony Wales Jr. had 14 points, Glenn Hill Jr. had 13 points and Jocobi Hendricks added 10.

IU Southeast travels to Asbury University Thursday at 6 p.m.
