NEW ALBANY, Ind. – David Burton led IU Southeast with 20 points, and Seth Cox had a huge game on Senior Day with 11 points and 15 rebounds to defeat Midway University 72-48. Jocobi Hendricks added 10 points and three steals.

The Grenadiers (19-7, 12-3 RSC) never lost the lead and led by as many as 29 points.

The first half was sluggish offensively and the Grenadiers had trouble pulling away for much of the period. They led 18-12 with under 8:30 to play and used a 14-6 run to open a 14-point lead. The Grenadiers led 36-22 at haftime. David Burton was the offensive catalyst for the Grenadiers, as he had 12 of his 20 points in the first half.

The second half opened with Burton hitting a three-point try to extend the lead to 17 points and IU Southeast did not look back. The lead was 20 before the second half was four minutes old.

Jocobi Hendricks, Burton and Seth Cox combined to socre 23 of the 36 points for the Grenadiers in the second half.

IU Southeast clamped down defensively in the second half and held the Eagles to 30 percent shooting from the field and just 3-of-10 from three-point range.

The Grenadiers host No. 14 IU Kokomo Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
