NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Ariana Sandefur had 12 points and Emmy Ralph added 10 but IU Southeast dropped a 70-51 decision to IU Kokomo on Tuesday to conclude the regular season.
The Grenadiers (18-11, 9-7 RSC) shot just 26 percent from the field in the contest and were outrebounded 51-28. The Cougars (15-12, 7-7 RSC) pounded the ball in the paint and outscored the Grenadiers 36-20 which led to a field goal percentage of 50 percent for the contest.
Ally Davis had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead IU Kokomo. Vanessa Mullins had 14 points and eight rebounds and Tia Chambers had 13 points and 19 rebounds in the win.
The Grenadiers trailed 34-20 at halftime and did not cut the deficit under 12 points for the remainder of the contest.
IU Southeast returns to action Feb. 26 when the Grenadiers will host one of the RSC quarterfinals 5:30 p.m. The opponent and other tournament information will be announced this weekend after the conclusion of the regular season.
