Box Score NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Five Grenadier scored in double-figures but it was not enough to get past Midway University on Saturday as the Eagles defeated the Grenadiers 89077.
Emmy Ralph had 18 points to lead IU Southeast. Lauren Lambdin had 16 points and eight assists, Collette Nice had 14 points, senior Josie Woods had 12 points and 10 rebounds in her final regular-season game and Kirstie Henn had 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Grenadiers (5-5) trailed 24-18 after the first quarter but clamped down defensively in the second quarter. They held the Eagles to just 15 points in the second quarter and used a 19-9 run to take a 39-37 lead. IU Southeast led 41-39 at halftime.
Josie Woods had eight points in the second quarter to spark the comeback.
The Eagles capitalized on 10 Grenadier turnovers in the second half which led to high-percentage offense. Midway shot 52 percent from the field in the second half and were 7-of-19 from three-point range. IU Southeast hit just one three-pointer in the second half.
Allyson Callahan had 19 of her 33 points in the second half to help the Eagles pull away. Midway outscored IU Southeast 50-36 in the second half. Jalyn Jackson had 10 of her 13 points in the second half.
Emmy Ralph had 11 of her 18 points in the final 20 minutes.
IU Southeast travels to Brescia University Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET for the quarterfinals of the River States Conference Women's Basketball Championship.
