MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – Four Grenadiers scored in double-figures and a 51-poin first half sent IU Southeast past Miami-Middletown 91-72 on Saturday.
J.J. Reed led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds.
Lane Lauderbaugh had 19 points and five rebounds,
Jocobi Hendricks had 13 points and five assists and
Armani Carr added 11 points.
IU Southeast shot almost 60 percent (25-of-49) from the field but only 25 percent from three-point range as they dominated in the paint. The Grenadiers outscored Miami-Middletown 51-39 in the first half and maintained a comfortable advantage throughout.
The teams combined for 34 turnovers but IU Southeast was able to take advantage of the 18 turnovers they forced by outscoring Miami-Middletown 23-10 in points off turnovers.
Tevi Ali had eight steals in the win for the Grenadiers.
IU Southeast travels to Simmons College of Kentucky Tuesday at 7 p.m.
