NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's basketball team could not overcome a slow start and fell to Oakland City on Saturday.
 

• Oakland City shot 61 percent from the field in the first half (72 percent in the first quarter)  and outscored IU Southeast 69-27 in the opening half.
• The difference in the game was three-point shooting as Oakland City made 15 three-pointers and IU Southeast made just six.
• The Mighty Oaks also dominated on the glass 53-23 which led to 23 second chance points.
• The Grenadier offense began to click in the second half as Jesse Ledgerwood scored 14 of her team-leading 17 in the second half.
• IU Southeast shot 48 percent in the second half but only hit three three-point field goals so they could not overcome the steep deficit.
• Leah Miller had 12 points and five assists in the loss.

 The Grenadiers travel to St. Mary-of-the-Woods Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
