MIDWAY, Ky . – The IU Southeast men's basketball team could not keep up with the Midway University offense on Saturday as the Eagles defeated the Grenadiers 80-65.
Lane Lauderbaugh had 27 points and five rebounds to lead iU Southeast.
Jocobi Hendricks had 11 points.
The IU Southeast offense started slowly and had only scored nine points in the game's first nine minutes.
Lane Lauderbaugh was able to rally the Grenadiers in final 10 minutes of the half and cut into the deficit.
The Grenadiers closed the half on a 10-1 run to trail 36-32 at halftime. Lauderbaugh scored 16 of his 27 points in the first half and was 7-of-9 from the field in the opening half.
In the second half,
Caleb Brown and
Jocobi Hendricks scored the first four points of the half off of turnovers to tie the game. Midway responded with a 21-4 run to put the game away.
The Grenadiers' perimeter offense struggled throughout the contest as they shot just 28 percent from three-point range.
IU Southeast travels to Alice Lloyd College Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
