PIPPA PASSES, Ky. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team fell to Alice Lloyd 98-85 on Tuesday.
IU Southeast went on a 7-0 run early in the first half to take a 7-5 lead. The teams traded baskets until IU Southeast scored four straight points to take a 16-11 lead.
Alice Lloyd used an 8-0 run to take a 19-16 edge, but
Jaden Johnson connected on a three to tie the game at 19-19. Alice Lloyd extended their lead to five at 24-19, but IU Southeast was able to cut the deficit to one at 24-23.
Alice Lloyd extended their lead to 10 at 35-25. IU Southeast responded with six straight points to cut the deficit to four at 35-31. IU Southeast tied the game at 38-38 on a
Jocobi Hendricks jumper.
Trailing 44-40, IU Southeast closed the half on a 7-0 run to take a 47-44 lead into halftime.
IU Southeast extended their lead to eight to open the second half. After a made three by Alice Lloyd,
Jocobi Hendricks connected on a jumper to give IU Southeast a 63-56 edge.
Alice Lloyd rattled off 11 straight points to take a 67-63 lead. Leading 70-68, the Eagles used a 7-0 run to take a 77-68 advantage.
IU Southeast cut the Alice Lloyd lead to five at 81-76 following a
Caleb Brown three. A three by Alice Lloyd gave the Eagles an eight-point edge at 84-76.
The Grenadiers cut the deficit to six at 84-78, but IU Southeast was unable to get any closer as Alice Lloyd pulled away down the stretch to secure a 98-85 win.
J.J. Reed scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds for IU Southeast.
Jocobi Hendricks had 18 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
Caleb Brown scored 15 points, and
Lane Lauderbaugh added 10 points.
IU Southeast (8-10, 4-6 RSC) returns to action on Saturday on the road against WVU Tech.
