NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept IU Columbus (25-22, 25-16, 25-20) on Friday night to improve to 4-2 in RSC play.
IU Southeast jumped out to a 9-6 lead in the first set, but IU Columbus went on a 5-1 run to swing the lead in their favor at 11-10.
The teams traded points until the first set was tied at 19-19. IU Columbus took a 20-19 lead, but IU Southeast used a 5-0 run to take a 24-20 advantage. IU Southeast would take the first set 25-22.
IU Southeast used an early 7-0 lead to jump ahead 12-6 in the second set. The Grenadiers held a lead of at least six points for the remainder of the set en route to a 25-16 second set victory.
IU Columbus got off to an early 9-2 lead in set three. Trailing 12-6, the Grenadiers used a 6-1 run to narrow the deficit to one at 13-12.
IU Columbus took a 16-13 edge, but an 8-1 IU Southeast run swung the lead in their favor at 21-17. IU Southeast would go on to take the third set 25-20 and the match 3-0.
Ella Brooks led IU Southeast with 11 kills, nine digs and three aces.
Haley Jaster added 10 kills.
Madison Ramsey led IU Southeast with 6.0 blocks.
Jordan Vaughan had 5.0 blocks and four kills.
Jessi Kramer had a trio of blocks and a pair of aces.
Carly Mason led IU Southeast with 18 assists.
IU Southeast returns to action on Tuesday for a home contest against Oakland City.
