HARRODSBURG, Ky. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team defeated CU Harrodsburg 78-65 on Tuesday to hand the Pioneers their second loss of the season.
 
CU Harrodsburg jumped out to a 14-8 lead five minutes into the game. IU Southeast used a 6-0 run to tie the game at 14-14. With CU Harrodsburg ahead 19-18, a 7-2 run gave the Pioneers a 26-20 lead.
 
IU Southeast cut the lead to one at 30-29. A pair of Pioneer free throws made it 32-29, but the Grenadiers came back to take a 33-32 lead. IU Southeast extended their advantage to four at 39-35. The Grenadiers led 43-38 at the half.
 
CU Harrodsburg took a 48-47 lead early in the second half. With the Pioneers ahead 51-49, IU Southeast scored five straight points to take a 54-51 edge. CU Harrodsburg hit a pair of free throws to make it 54-53, but IU Southeast used a 6-0 run to make it 60-53 Grenadiers.
 
Back-to-back threes by IU Southeast later in the half gave the Grenadiers a 68-56 lead. CU Harrodsburg cut the IU Southeast lead to seven, but IU Southeast immediately extended their lead to 13 with four minutes left.
 
IU Southeast would go on to win 78-65.
 
"Another great team win," IU Southeast head coach Wiley Brown said. "They are definitely trending in the right direction. Our confidence comes from playing defense, and all of a sudden, our shots start falling. They are starting to buy into defense wins games, and it's fun to watch! On to the next!"
 
Lane Lauderbaugh led IU Southeast with 25 points and eight rebounds. Ethan Haddaway had 13 points and four rebounds. Xavier Price had nine points and four rebounds. Camden Pfeister had six points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block.
 
IU Southeast returns to action on Dec. 17 at Campbellsville.
