LIMA, Ohio – The Grenadier baseball team fell 6-3 to the University of Northwestern Ohio before bouncing back with a 9-5 win on Saturday.
Mason White opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first for IU Southeast, but the Racers took the lead with four runs in the fifth and a pair in the sixth.
Max Flock drove in White with a RBI single in the ninth.
Mason White finished game one going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.
Max Flock had two hits and drove in a run.
In game two, IU Southeast jumped out early with four runs in the top of the first.
Ethan Burdette led off with a double and scored on a RBI single by
Colin Long.

Casey Brown was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Flock drew a bases-loaded walk to score
Luke Powell.

The Racers cut the lead in half in the second inning and added a run in the fourth to cut the lead to one.
After consecutive 1-2-3 innings in the fourth and the fifth for IU Southeast, the Grenadier offense exploded for four more runs in the sixth.
Mason White led off with a single to center but had moved to second with two outs and the inning looked to be ending with no insurance runs.
But
Alex Yurt singled to center to drive in White and
Ethan Burdette reached to load the bases.
An error by the center fielder on a fly ball by Long cleared the bases and extended the Grenadier lead.
Garrett Hill worked the final two innings for IU Southeast and allowed a hit and a walk while striking out a batter.
Cade Reynolds earned his first win of the year, working six and two-thirds innings and allowing four runs on seven hits. He walked a batter and struck out two.
Mason White had three more hits and scored twice, Long and Powell each had two hits.
Ethan Burdette and
Luke Powell also scored twice.
IU Southeast hosts No. 14 Indiana Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday.
