DAYTON, Tenn. – The IU Southeast baseball team fell to Northwestern Ohio 8-2 in 7 innings and 12-11 in 10 innings on Saturday.
IU Southeast fell behind early against UNOH on a two-run home run in the second. After the Grenadiers tied the game at 2-2, UNOH scored six runs in the fourth to take an 8-2 lead.
Neither team would score a run for the rest of the game as UNOH secured an 8-2 win in seven innings.
Slater Schield stole four bases for IU Southeast in the contest.
Brendan Koester came in in relief and threw two perfect innings, striking out four.
In game two, IU Southeast opened the scoring against Bryan in the third inning. After
Grant Shepherd singled and advanced to second on an error,
Ethan Burdette singled to give IU Southeast a 1-0 lead.
IU Southeast scored again in the top of the fifth when
Max Flock walked and scored on a
Grant Shepherd triple. Shepherd came around to score on an error to give the Grenadiers a 3-0 lead.
Bryan scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 3-1, but IU Southeast made it 4-1 in the top of the sixth on a
Max Flock RBI single.
Bryan's offense came to life in the bottom of the sixth. 11 batters came to the plate and seven runs scored. Bryan led 8-4 after six.
IU Southeast made it 8-5 in the top of the seventh when
Colin Long drove in
Grant Shepherd with a sacrifice fly.
Ethan Burdette scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-6.
Max Flock launched his second home run of the season in the top of the eighth to cut the Bryan lead to one at 8-7. That would remain the score as the teams headed to the ninth inning.

Colin Long followed with a single. With one out,
Logan Murphy singled to drive in Burdette and tie the game at 8-8. After the runners advanced on a wild pitch,
Brayden Hazelwood gave IU Southeast a 9-8 lead on a sacrifice fly.
Slater Schield followed with an RBI double to give IU Southeast a 10-8 lead. Bryan would answer in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run home run to send the game into extras.
Mason White delivered a two-out RBI single to give IU Southeast an 11-10 lead in the tenth inning, but Bryan responded with two runs in the bottom of the tenth to secure a 12-11 win.
Connor Sims got the start for IU Southeast, striking out six in 4.1 innings.

IU Southeast returns to action against Baker University on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Southeast Rumble in Waleska, Georgia.
