RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The IU Southeast baseball team scored 17 runs on 16 hits en route to a 17-0 win over Rio Grande on Sunday, securing a three-game sweep over the RedStorm.
Alex Yurt led off the first inning with an infield hit, and
Mason White followed with his third home run of the series to give IU Southeast a 2-0 lead. With one out,
Kody Putnam launched a solo home run to make it 3-0 Grenadiers.
In the top of the second,
Logan Murphy led off with a single and
Slater Schield reached on an error to give IU Southeast runners on first and second.
Colin Long followed with an RBI double to give IU Southeast a 4-0 lead.
With one out,
Mason White was intentionally walked to load the bases.
Luke Powell followed with a two-RBI single to give the Grenadiers a 6-0 lead.
In the top of the third,
Max Flock led off with a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
Logan Murphy followed with a walk to give IU Southeast runners on first and third with no outs. With one out,
Colin Long delivered an RBI groundout to make it 7-0 IU Southeast.

Logan Murphy led off the top of the fifth with back-to-back singles for the Grenadiers.
Slater Schield reached first on a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt attempt, which allowed Flock to score to give IU Southeast an 8-0 lead.

Mikaii Stoner to score to give IU Southeast a 9-0 lead. An RBI groundout by
Alex Yurt made it 10-0, and back-to-back RBI doubles by
Mason White and
Luke Powell gave the Grenadiers a 12-0 advantage.
In the top of the sixth,
Max Flock led off with a double and advanced to third on a one out single by
Slater Schield.
Colin Long followed with an RBI single to give IU Southeast a 13-0 lead.
Mason White delivered a two-out RBI single to make it 14-0 Grenadiers.
Trevor Goodwin was hit by a pitch to lead off the top of the seventh for IU Southeast. After
Ryan Kassel drew a walk,
Gabe Yonto was hit by a pitch to load the bases for the Grenadiers. Goodwin scored on a fielder's choice by
Grant Shepherd, and Kassel scored on a throwing error to make it 16-0.

Tyler Yotkewich started and got the win for IU Southeast, throwing a complete game two-hit shutout. Yotkewich struck out four in seven innings of work.
Mason White and
Max Flock each had three hits for IU Southeast. White and
Colin Long each drove in four runs in the win.
Luke Powell had two hits and three RBIs for the Grenadiers.
IU Southeast (14-12, 7-2 RSC) returns to action on Tuesday for a single game at Georgetown College.
