NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast softball team swept a doubleheader against Ohio Christian on Friday, winning game one 13-1 in five innings and game two 5-2.
 
IU Southeast scored first in game one. After a Josie Lemmons single and stolen base, Autumn Oehlstrom launched a two-run home run to give IU Southeast a 2-0 lead.
 
In the bottom of the second, Brynlea Bennett led off with a single. With one out, Cassi Roman connected on a two-run home run to give IU Southeast a 4-0 advantage.
 
Josie Lemmons led off the bottom of the third with a walk and a stolen base. Autumn Oehlstrom followed with an RBI double to make it 5-0 IU Southeast. Erin Templeman followed with a two-run home run to give IU Southeast a 7-0 lead.
 
After an Ohio Christian pitching change, Macie Zink and Brynlea Bennett singled to put runners on first and second. Madison Wathen followed with a two-RBI double to make it 9-0 Grenadiers.
 
IU Southeast had runners on second and third with one out after an Issy Wright bunt single and stolen base. A McKenzie Walters RBI single gave the Grenadiers a 10-0 lead.
 
With two outs in the third, Josie Lemmons delivered an RBI triple to make it 11-0 Grenadiers. Autumn Oehlstrom followed with an RBI single to give IU Southeast a 12-0 advantage.
 
With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Cassi Roman walked and came around to score on an RBI double by Issy Wright to give IU Southeast a 13-0 lead.
 
Ohio Christian scored a run in the top of the fifth, but IU Southeast went on to secure a 13-1 run rule win in five innings.
 
Madison Wathen got the win for IU Southeast, throwing four scoreless innings while striking out six. Issy Wright pitched the fifth inning for the Grenadiers.  
 
Autumn Oehlstrom had three hits and four RBIs for IU Southeast. Josie Lemmons, Brynlea Bennett, and Issy Wright each had two hits. Erin Templeman, Madison Wathen, and Cassi Roman each had two RBIs in the win.
 
IU Southeast scored first in game two as well. Erin Templeman walked and pinch runner Quinlynn Cunningham stole second. Kaitlyn Leister followed with a single and advanced to second on the throw. Katie Templeman followed with an RBI bunt single to give IU Southeast a 1-0 lead.
 
Cassi Roman walked to load the bases for IU Southeast. With two outs, McKenzie Walters singled to score Leister and make it 2-0, but Templeman was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.
 
The score remained 2-0 until the fifth. Cassi Roman doubled to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a bunt single by Issy Wright. After Wright stole second, McKenzie Walters delivered a two-RBI single to give IU Southeast a 4-0 lead. Walters scored on a fielder's choice to make it 5-0 Grenadiers.
 
Ohio Christian hit a two-run home run in the sixth to make it 5-2, but neither team scored again as IU Southeast secured a 5-2 win.
 
Hallie Foley threw a complete game for IU Southeast, allowing two runs in seven innings while striking out six.
 
McKenzie Walters had two hits and three RBIs for IU Southeast. Erin Templeman and Katie Templeman each had an RBI in the win.
 
IU Southeast (15-10, 9-1 RSC) returns to action on Saturday for a home doubleheader against Point Park.
