NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast softball team swept a doubleheader against Brescia on Friday, winning game one 9-1 in five innings and game two 10-1 in five innings.
 
IU Southeast scored first in game one. After a Brynlea Bennett double, Autumn Oehlstrom hit a two-run home run to give the Grenadiers a 2-0 lead. Macie Zink singled and came around to score on a dropped fly ball to make it 3-0 IU Southeast.  
 
In the bottom of the second, Cassi Roman walked and advanced to second on a groundout. With two outs, Brynlea Bennett singled to score Roman and give IU Southeast a 4-0 lead.
 
A solo home run by Brescia in the top of the third made it 4-1.
 
In the bottom of the third, Kendall Brown reached on a dropped fly ball and came around to score on an RBI double by Madison Wathen to give IU Southeast a 5-1 lead. After Cassi Roman walked, Issy Wright delivered a two-RBI double to make it 7-1 Grenadiers.
 
Autumn Oehlstrom doubled to lead off the bottom of the fourth. Erin Templeman followed with an RBI single to make it 8-1 IU Southeast.
 
With two outs in the bottom of the fifth, Issy Wright doubled, and Josie Lemmons walked to put two runners on. Brynlea Bennett followed with an RBI single to give IU Southeast a 9-1 win in five innings.
 
Madison Wathen threw a complete game in the win, giving up one run on two hits in five innings while striking out 11.
 
Brynlea Bennett led IU Southeast with three hits and two RBIs. Autumn Oehlstrom doubled, homered, and drove in two runs in the win. Both Madison Wathen and Issy Wright doubled twice.
 
Brescia scored first in game two. In the top of the second, a double, a wild pitch, and an RBI groundout gave the Bearcats a 1-0 lead.
 
In the bottom of the third, Issy Wright singled, and Josie Lemmons reached on a fielder's choice to give the Grenadiers runners on first and second with one out. Brynlea Bennett followed with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. Autumn Oehlstrom delivered a two-RBI double to make it 3-1 Grenadiers.
 
After Macie Zink was hit by a pitch with two outs, Kendall Brown delivered an RBI single to make it 4-1 IU Southeast. Maci Warner followed with a two-RBI double to give IU Southeast a 6-1 lead. A dropped fly ball allowed Warner to score to make it 7-1 Grenadiers.
 
In the bottom of the fourth, Josie Lemmons walked, stole second, and advanced to third on a popup. Autumn Oehlstrom followed with an RBI single to give IU Southeast an 8-1 edge. After a walk and a wild pitch, an RBI groundout by Macie Zink made it 9-1 Grenadiers. An RBI single by Kendall Brown made it 10-1 IU Southeast.
 
IU Southeast would go on to secure a 10-1 win in five innings.
 
Maci Warner threw a complete game, allowing one run on one hit while striking out five.
 
Autumn Oehlstrom had two hits and three RBIs in the win. Kendall Brown also had two hits and drove in two runs.  
 
IU Southeast (30-13, 24-4 RSC) continues their homestand with a doubleheader against Oakland City on Saturday. Senior Day festivities will be held before the game starting at approximately 12:30 PM.
