NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast softball team swept Shawnee State in a doubleheader on Saturday, winning game one 9-0 in five innings and game two 10-0 in five innings.
In the bottom of the second inning of game one,
Kendall Brown doubled and came around to score on a
Cassi Roman RBI single to give IU Southeast a 1-0 lead.
Brynlea Bennett led off the bottom of the third with a single, and
Autumn Oehlstrom followed with an RBI double to give IU Southeast a 2-0 lead. With the bases loaded,
Kendall Brown was hit by a pitch to make it 3-0 IU Southeast.
Cassi Roman drew a bases loaded walk to make it 4-0, and another run came around to score on a wild pitch to give IU Southeast a 5-0 lead. An
Issy Wright RBI groundout made it 6-0 Grenadiers.
Brynlea Bennett singled to lead off the bottom of the fourth, and
Autumn Oehlstrom followed with a two-run home run to give IU Southeast an 8-0 lead.
Macie Zink singled, stole second and came around to score on an error to make it 9-0 Grenadiers.
IU Southeast would go on to secure a 9-0 win in five innings.
Madison Wathen threw a five-inning complete game shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out eight.
Brynlea Bennett led IU Southeast with three hits.
Autumn Oehlstrom doubled and hit a home run, driving in three runs.
Kendall Brown also added a double.
Macie Zink stole the lone base for the Grenadiers.
IU Southeast kicked off the scoring in the first inning of game two.
Josie Lemmons walked, stole second, and came around to score on an
Autumn Oehlstrom two-run home run that gave IU Southeast a 2-0 lead.
With two outs,
Macie Zink was hit by a pitch and
Kendall Brown walked.
Maci Warner followed with a three-run home run to extend the IU Southeast lead to 5-0.
In the bottom of the second, IU Southeast loaded the bases with two outs.
Macie Zink came through with a two-RBI single to give IU Southeast a 7-0 lead.

Erin Templeman hit a three-run home run to make it 10-0 IU Southeast.
The Grenadiers would go on to secure a 10-0 win in five innings.
Hallie Foley threw a five-inning complete game shutout, giving up three hits while striking out two.
Autumn Oehlstrom,
Erin Templeman and
Maci Warner each homered in the win.
Brynlea Bennett added a double for IU Southeast.
Josie Lemmons and Oehlstrom each stole a base.
