NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept Alice Lloyd (25-14, 25-12, 25-14) on Friday.
IU Southeast opened the first set on a 6-0 run. Leading 9-4, the Grenadiers used an 8-0 run to extend their lead to 17-4. Trailing 22-6, Alice Lloyd used an 8-1 run to cut the lead to 23-14. IU Southeast used kills by
Haley Jaster and
Kali Bowie to take the first set 25-14.
The teams were tied 6-6 early in the second set. IU Southeast went on a 9-1 run to take a 15-7 lead. Leading 17-10, the Grenadiers used a 6-1 run to take a 23-11 edge. IU Southeast took the second set 25-12.
IU Southeast opened the third set on a 7-0 run. With a 7-3 lead, IU Southeast went on a 5-1 run to take a 12-4 edge. Alice Lloyd cut the lead to six at 16-10, but the Grenadiers answered with three straight points to take a 19-10 advantage. IU Southeast would take the third set 25-14 and the match 3-0.
Haley Jaster led IU Southeast with 14 kills and 4.0 blocks.
Madison Ramsey also had 4.0 blocks.
Carly Mason had a team-high 23 assists, and
Ella Davidson and
Ella Brooks led IU Southeast with 13 digs apiece.
IU Southeast returns to action on Saturday at home against Shawnee State at 12:00 PM.
