RICHMOND, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept IU East on Saturday to cap off a perfect 2-0 weekend with a pair of sweeps.
IU Southeast used a 7-1 run to extend their lead to 18-10 in set one en route to a 25-15 first set victory.
Set two was almost identical to set one as the Grenadiers led 18-11 and would go on to take the second set 25-15 as well.
IU East led for the majority of the third set. The Red Wolves led 18-12 before a 9-2 IU Southeast run gave the Grenadiers a 21-20 lead. It was IU Southeast who would take the third set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
"It was great to get all our players back this weekend," IU Southeast head coach Taylor Wilson-Evanczyk said. "Every single player saw the court and helped us go 2-0 with two sweeps in conference play."
IU Southeast was well-balanced as four players had 8+ kills.
Ella Brooks had 11 kills,
Madison Ramsey had 10,
Nicole Stratford had nine, and
Haley Jaster had eight.
Carly Mason led the Grenadiers with 35 assists and a pair of aces.
Nicole Stratford had a team-high 16 digs, and
Madison Ramsey led the team with 4.0 blocks.
IU Southeast moves to 13-4 overall and 6-3 in RSC play. The Grenadiers host Kentucky Christian on Friday.
