WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The IU Southeast volleyball team fell to the 10
th-ranked University of the Cumberlands on Tuesday night.
Cumberlands used a 12-3 run early in the first set to take a 15-6 lead. IU Southeast was able to cut the lead to six at 20-14, but it was Cumberlands who took the first set 25-16.
In the second set, Cumberlands led 8-7 before a 9-2 run gave the Patriots a 17-9 edge. Cumberlands would cruise to a 25-13 second set win.
A 10-1 run gave Cumberlands a 13-3 lead in the third set. Trailing 19-5, IU Southeast was able to cut the lead to nine at 19-10, but it was Cumberlands who would win the third set 25-10 and the match 3-0.
IU Southeast was led in kills by
Ella Brooks with seven.
Haley Jaster added five and
Allison Daves had four.
Carly Mason led IU Southeast with 19 assists and 12 digs.
The Grenadiers return to action this Friday as they host No. 15 IU Kokomo.
