NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The 17^th ranked IU Southeast baseball team completed the sweep of IU Kokomo on Saturday to extend their winning streak to nine games.
 
IU Southeast got on the board first in game one. Logan Beard doubled to drive in two runs to give the Grenadiers an early 2-0 lead. An RBI single by Colin Long made it 3-0.
 
The score remained 3-0 until the fifth. An RBI single by Grant Shepherd gave IU Southeast a 4-0 advantage. An RBI single by Jack Ellis made it 5-0, and back-to-back bases loaded walks put the Grenadiers ahead 7-0.
 
In the bottom of the seventh, a fielder's choice put IU Southeast ahead 8-0. Cole Reynolds drove in two on a single to secure a 10-0 run-rule victory for the Grenadiers in seven innings.
 
Jack Ellis led IU Southeast with three hits. Logan Beard had a team-high two RBI. Beard and Preston Shelton doubled. Grant Shepherd had two stolen bases.
 
Brendan Whalen got the start and the win, throwing six scoreless innings while striking out five. Conner Christopher V threw a scoreless seventh.
 
IU Kokomo used an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first in game two. Another RBI single by IU Kokomo in the top of the second put the Cougars ahead 2-0.
 
IU Southeast was held hitless until the bottom of the fifth. After a walk, back-to-back bunt hits loaded the bases. A sacrifice fly by Nolan Bowser made it 2-1, and after an error, a bases-clearing double by Logan Beard put IU Southeast ahead 4-2.
 
An RBI triple by Logan Murphy in the bottom of the sixth made it 5-2 IU Southeast. Murphy would come around to score on a wild pitch to make it 6-2.
 
IU Kokomo scored a run in the seventh, but IU Southeast closed the door to secure a 6-3 win in seven innings.
 
Logan Beard led IU Southeast with three RBI. Beard doubled, and Logan Murphy tripled. Colin Long stole a base in the win.
 
Luca Sandrella got the start, allowing one earned run in four innings of work. Cade Rusch picked up the win after throwing a scoreless fifth. and Daly Skees followed with a scoreless sixth. Oscar Welsh got the first two outs of the seventh, and Nick Pazos got the final out to pick up his fourth save.
 
"Huge sweep against a quality IUK team," IU Southeast head coach Brett Neffendorf said. "Really good job being better tonight on the mound and in the field defensively holding the line until the offense got going in the second game."

IU Southeast (11-5, 3-0 RSC) returns to action on Wednesday for a home game against Madonna.
