NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The 14
th ranked IU Southeast baseball team fell to the 5
th ranked Reinhardt Eagles 16-4 in seven innings on Friday.
Reinhardt scored three in the first to take a 3-0 lead. Another two runs in the second made it 5-0 Eagles.
An RBI single by
Logan Murphy in the second made it 5-1. Reinhardt answered with four in the third to take a 9-1 lead.
Reinhardt scored two more runs in the fourth to take an 11-1 edge.
An RBI single by
Preston Shelton in the fourth made it 11-2. An RBI groundout by
Logan Murphy made it 11-3, and an RBI single by
Grant Shepherd made it 11-4.
Three more runs in the fifth and two in the sixth gave Reinhardt a 16-4 lead, which would be the final score.
Hazel Martinez and
Grant Shepherd each had two hits for IU Southeast.
Logan Murphy drove in a team-high two runs. Martinez and
Colin Long each doubled.
Eli Laurent started and took the loss, allowing eight runs in 2.1 innings.

Hunter Niksch threw in relief.
