IU Southeast Sweeps Georgetown to Extend Winning Streak to Eight

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept Georgetown on Saturday, their seventh sweep in their last eight matches, to extend their winning streak to eight.
 
A big run in the first set put IU Southeast ahead by six. The Grenadiers led by as many as eight points en route to a 25-18 first set win.
 
Georgetown led 11-10 in the second set, but a 9-0 run put IU Southeast ahead 19-11. The Grenadiers led by as many as 10 points as IU Southeast would go on to take the second set 25-19.
 
The third set was back-and-forth as the two teams found themselves knotted up at 19-19. IU Southeast used a 6-2 run to take the third set 25-21 and the match 3-0.
 
Ella Brooks led IU Southeast with 14 kills. Reagan Ealy, Carly Mason, Esther Woodward, and Madison Ramsey each had two aces apiece. Madison Ramsey led IU Southeast with 5.0 blocks. Carly Mason had a team-high 18 assists, and Ella Davidson led the Grenadiers with 16 digs.
 
"It was exciting to be at home for a midweek game and weekend," IU Southeast head coach Taylor Wilson-Evanczyk said. "Every single person on our roster contributed today in a positive way and that's huge for us as we go into week three of conference."
 
IU Southeast moves to 10-1 overall. The Grenadiers travel to No. 20 IU Kokomo on Friday, Sept. 26.
