IU Southeast Sweeps Lourdes and Milligan on Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept both Lourdes and Milligan to close out the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
 
IU Southeast jumped out to a 13-7 lead in set one against Lourdes. Lourdes fought back and took a 21-19 lead. The teams traded points until the set was tied at 25-25. Lourdes took a 26-25 lead, but three straight points by IU Southeast gave the Grenadiers a 28-26 set one win.
 
IU Southeast jumped in front 14-7 in set two. Lourdes cut the lead to 17-15, but the Grenadiers pulled away at the end to take the second set 25-17.
 
Lourdes led 20-17 in the third set, but IU Southeast closed on an 8-1 run to take the set 25-21 and the match 3-0.
 
Addyson Schneider led IU Southeast with 10 kills and 5.0 blocks. Carly Mason had a team-high 22 assists and five aces.
 
Set one between IU Southeast and Milligan was back-and-forth, but the Grenadiers once again pulled away late to take the first set 25-20.
 
The second set was all IU Southeast as the Grenadiers won 25-13.
 
IU Southeast narrowly led 16-14 in the third set, but a massive 7-0 run late in the set led the Grenadiers to a 25-17 set win and 3-0 match win.
 
Haley Jaster led IU Southeast with 10 kills. Carly Mason added 18 assists, and Esther Woodward had 17. Lake Butiste had three aces.
 
"Unbelievably proud of how every single person on our roster showed up to play today," IU Southeast head coach Taylor Wilson-Evanczyk said. "Hitting the road with gratitude for a great weekend and a list of things to work on when we get back to business on Monday. Excited to start conference play and see what this team is made of."
 
IU Southeast moves to 5-1 on the season.
