OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team fell to Oakland City 65-62 on Saturday.
 
IU Southeast jumped out to an 8-2 lead to open the game. Halfway through the first half, the Grenadiers led 14-8.
 
Oakland City cut the IU Southeast lead to one at 23-22, but a 5-0 run sent the Grenadiers into the half with a 28-22 advantage.
 
The Grenadiers led 35-29 three minutes into the second half, but Oakland City used an 8-0 run to take their first lead of the game at 37-35.
 
With Oakland City ahead 40-38, IU Southeast used a 9-2 run to swing the lead back in their favor at 47-42.
 
IU Southeast was able to extend their lead to six at 52-46, but Oakland City immediately cut the lead back to one at 52-51.
 
IU Southeast led 60-56 with 2:39 remaining, but back-to-back buckets allowed Oakland City to tie the game at 60-60.
 
A pair of free throws gave the Grenadiers a 62-60 lead with 1:16 left, but a layup allowed Oakland City to tie the game at 62-62.
 
After a pair of failed possessions, IU Southeast had the ball on the baseline with four seconds left, but an errant pass went out of bounds, giving Oakland City an extra possession. With a second remaining, Oakland City hit a three to stun IU Southeast 65-62.
 
IU Southeast was led by Bailey Temming, who had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks off the bench. Trent Hinkle added 13 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Camden Pfeister added 11 points and six rebounds, and Nathaniel Hoffman had 10 points and six rebounds.

The Grenadiers return to action on Tuesday for a road contest at SMWC.
