OWENSBORO, Ky. – Another dominant defensive performance propelled IU Southeast past Brescia 85-63 on Tuesday.
Nathaniel Hoffman had 17 points,
Camden Pfeister had 15 points and 13 rebounds and
Trent Hinkle and
Ethan Haddaway each had 12 points.
The Grenadiers held Brescia to 25 percent (7-for-28) shooting in the opening half.
IU Southeast only led 22-16 after a jumper by
Jaden Johnson with eight minutes left in the half. Then the Grenadiers pulled away on a 17-6 run.
Jaden Johnson,
Trent Hinkle and
Cole Thomas all hit three-pointers during that run.
IU Southeast led 45-27 at halftime.
Trent Hinkle extended the lead to 52-31 early in the second half. Then Pfeister and Hoffman hit consecutive three-pointers to make it a 60-33 advantage.
The Grenadiers led by as many as 29 points in the second half. They held the Bearcats to just 1-of-15 shooting from three-point range in the final 20 minutes and just 4-of-28 for the game.
IU Southeast hit 13 threes in the contest.
The Grenadiers host Oakland City Saturday at 1 p.m. Senior Day will begin at 12:50.
