Women's golf comes in fourth at Midway Invititional

VERSAILLES, Ky. - The IU Southeast women's golf team came in fourth place at the Midway Eagle Invitational hosted by Midway University. The tournament was a two-day, two-round, par 72 tournament that wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.  

Emma Rowland and Rachel Shaffer finished second and third, respectively. Rowland recorded a pair of birdies in round one and led the tournament after day one, then had one birdie in round two. Shaffer recorded a birdie on hole 15 in round one and was in third after day one and held onto the third-place spot in round two.  

Lydia Hines came in 29th place and recorded six pars. Caity Dailey finished one spot behind Hines and improved her score by one stroke in round two. Brittany Fogle finished behind Dailey and had the most improved score from round one to round two. Fogle shaved off five strokes from her round one score.  

As a team, the Grenadiers came in fourth place out of the five teams competing at the tournament. IU Southeast had their best team performance in round one, shooting a collective 364.  

Next up for IU Southeast is a trip to Edinburgh, Ind., on April 11th-12th for the Spalding Preview hosted by Spalding University.
