EDINBURG, Ind. - The IU Southeast women's golf team came in third place at the Timbergate Preview hosted by Spalding University this past weekend. The tournament was a two round, par 72 tournament.
Rachel Shaffer finished second overall in the individual standings. Shaffer shot an 81 in round one, then improved her score to an 80 in round two. Shaffer also led the tournament and par three scoring, was third in par four scoring,
Emma Rowland came in sixth place. In the advanced stats, Rowland was second in the tournament in par four scoring and tied for second in par three scoring.
Lydia Hines improved her score from round one to round two. Hines shot a 95 in the first round and a 92 in the second.
As a team, IU Southeast came in third place out of the four teams present at the tournament. The Grenadiers also finished third in total pars.
The Grenadiers will be back in action in Kokomo, Ind., this Saturday and Sunday for the IU Kokomo Spring Showcase.
