NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Barry Gulley has been named Director of Golf at IU Southeast, Athletic Director Tod Bannister announced.  

"We are thrilled to have Barry Gulley join the Grenadier family as our new Director of Golf," Bannister said. "His previous experience as a head coach at the collegiate level, and his familiarity with the River States Conference, gives him a unique insight into what it takes to compete for championships on an annual basis. We are excited to have him take over leadership of the golf program."

"I want to thank Director of Athletics Tod Bannister and Associate Athletic Director Stephen Utz for giving me this opportunity and believing in my experience and vision for this program. Gulley will be the head coach for the Grenadiers' men's and women's golf programs and will oversee both. 

Gulley comes to IU Southeast from Hanover College, where he served as head coach of the men's and women's golf teams. Prior to Hanover, Gulley led the men's and women's golf teams at IU Kokomo for two years.  

While at IUK, Gulley led the women's team to multiple top five finishes and a third-place finish at the conference fall tournament. The IUK women's team also improved their team scoring average by 21 strokes.  

The IUK men's team finished in the top five in eight of their nine tournaments that year and finished ahead of four division I teams at the Butler University Invitational.  

Before IUK, Gulley was an assistant coach at Taylor University in 2019. Gulley aided the Trojans to multiple tournament wins and a berth in the NAIA National Championship.  

Gulley is a native of Richmond, Ind., and a 2004 graduate of Anderson University.
