DANIELS, W.Va. - IU Southeast men's golf wrapped up their season with a sixth-place finish at the River States Conference Championship Tuesday. The tournament was a three-round, par 72 tournament. The all-conference awards and end-of-season awards were released as well.
Westin Allen had IU Southeast's highest individual finish, coming in tied for eighth. Allen's best round came in round three where he finished –1. Allen eagled on hole two, then birdied on holes five and ten.
Rossi Hamilton finished four spots behind Allen. Hamilton finished tied for twelfth place. Hamilton shot 77 in rounds two and three. In round two, Hamilton recorded back-to-back birdies on holes eleven and twelve. Hamilton birdied on holes two and eight in round three.
Blaine Hamilton improved his score during every round of the tournament. Hamilton shaved off three shots from round one to round two, then shaved off five strokes from round two to round three.
Even Trester finished tied for 35th place but also improved his score during every round. Johnathan Clifton finished two spots behind Trester.
The River States Conference men's golf all-conference honors were based on where the golfers finished in the individual standings. The top five finishers were first team, 6-10 were second team, and 11-15 were third team. Allen was second team and Hamilton was third team. Allen was also IU Southeast's nominee for the River States Conference Champions of Character Tean.
As a team, the Grenadiers finish sixth out of the eleven teams present at the tournament. IU Southeast improved their total team score every round. The Grenadiers shaved off three strokes from round one to round two, then shaved off 16 strokes from round two to round three. In the advanced stats, IU Southeast finished tied for second in eagles and fourth in birdies.
