NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's basketball team got revenge on a twenty-point defeat in the season opener and defeated Grace College 68-67 on Wednesday night.
Kortney Woods tied a season-high with 17 points, including a three-point field goal with 6:36 to play in the second half that gave the Grenadiers a ten point lead that they would not relinquish.
Juaneice Jackson had 25 points including three-pointer to cut the IU Southeat lead to one. Heather Wheat, who had 14 points and eight assists, was able to dribble out the clock to secure the win.
Ashmere Woods added 13 points and six rebounds for IU Southeast. The Grenadiers (6-4) forced 21 turnovers in the game. The defense was led by Danielle Betts who had eight points and three steals.
The game was close throughout, there were eight ties and seven lead changes.
IU Southeast hosts No. 13 Taylor University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
